2 Designer Timeline
An accordion timeline designed for my History of Graphic Design class.
Project
Design a timeline that showcases the lives and artwork of a 20th century designer and a contemporary designer, along with historical events that may have impacted their work. Each student was assigned a designer from the 20th century, then chose a contemporary designer of interest. The timeline was to be designed in an accordion format.
My process
I first spent weeks conducting research on the two designers and general history that occurred during their lifetime. I chose Takenobu Igarashi as my contemporary designer of choice for his Japanese background and striking work of typography. I decided to organize the timeline using a color-coded system and circles of different sizes for emphasis. The 6”x9” accordion was designed using Adobe InDesign.
